Watch and respond

Live video with the controls of a room you are standing in.

  • Live view, peer to peer. Video travels straight between your devices over encrypted WebRTC. When a hotel or mobile network blocks the direct route, an encrypted relay forwards it without storing a frame.
  • Multi-camera grid. Every camera on one screen. Tap one to go full screen without re-waking it.
  • Push to talk. Two-way audio from the viewer, so you can say hello or tell the dog to get off the bed.
  • Comfort message. Record your voice once and play it from anywhere when they get restless.
  • Siren, screen light, and torch. Startle an intruder, light a dark room from the camera's screen, or turn on its flashlight.
  • Low-light mode and camera switching. Brighten a dim nursery, or flip between the front and back camera from the viewer.
  • Snapshots and local recording. Save a still or a clip to the device you are watching from. It never touches a server.

Alerts that mean something

Detection tuned for a room, not a pixel.

  • Sound alerts. Barks on a dog cam, or any loud noise on every other camera, with a live sound-level strip so you can see how the last half hour went.
  • Motion that ignores flicker. The detector learns the room's background, waits for something to travel a real distance, and treats a lamp switching on as a lighting change rather than an intruder.
  • Dead zones. Paint out the TV, a window, a ceiling fan, or the hallway the cat patrols, right on the live picture. Motion there never alerts and never records.
  • Sensitivity per camera. Low, medium, or high, saved with the camera and applied instantly.
  • Cooldown. One event per burst of activity, not a notification every second.
  • Activity log. Sound, motion, talk, siren, offline, and battery events in one timeline, worded for the camera's job.

Cloud clips and library

Only on paid plans, only for events you enable.

  • Event clips. Lite, Plus, and Premium record a short clip around each sound or motion event and keep it for 7, 30, or 90 days. Off by default, never on Free.
  • Pooled storage. 5 GB on Lite, 40 GB on Plus, 80 GB on Premium, shared across every camera. The server enforces size, length, and retention.
  • Sound timeline. Each clip shows a loudness strip. Tap the spike to jump to the bark instead of scrubbing.
  • Filter by camera. The library sorts newest first and narrows to one camera in a tap.
  • Yours to delete. Remove a clip, or your whole account, whenever you like. If a plan ends, uploads stop and you get a 72-hour export window.
  • No continuous recording. Live video is never recorded. RemoCam sells event clips and storage, not surveillance.

Can I turn an old phone into a security camera for free?

Yes. Sign in with the same Google account on the spare phone and on the device you will watch from. The free plan includes live view, two-way talk, sound and motion alerts, snapshots, and local recording, for unlimited cameras, forever. Paid plans only add cloud storage for event clips.

Does RemoCam record or store my video?

No. Live video and audio travel peer-to-peer between your own devices and are never recorded by RemoCam. Cloud clips exist only if you buy a paid plan and only for events you enable — kept 7 days on Lite, 30 days on Plus, or 90 days on Premium. You can delete them, or your whole account, at any time.

How many cameras can I use on the free plan?

As many as you like — there is no camera limit on any plan, including Free. Live video is peer-to-peer, so extra cameras cost RemoCam nothing to serve. Paid plans sell cloud storage, not camera slots.

Does RemoCam show ads or sell my data?

No ads, ever. RemoCam does not show advertising, does not embed advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not sell or share your monitoring data. Paid plans fund the storage and bandwidth that cloud clips need — that is the whole business model.

Can I use RemoCam as a baby monitor or pet camera?

Yes — pets, nurseries, an elderly parent's living room, workshops, and bird feeders are exactly what it is for, and each camera is set up for its own use. One honest caveat: RemoCam is a monitoring aid, not a life-safety service, so never rely on it as the only safeguard for a child or a person who needs direct care.

Does RemoCam work over mobile data or hotel Wi-Fi?

Yes. The camera and viewer connect directly whenever the network allows. When a hotel or mobile network blocks a direct route, an encrypted relay forwards the stream without storing it, so live view still works away from home.

What happens if my paid subscription ends?

Free live monitoring and real-time alerts keep working — nothing about the free plan ever expires. Cloud clip uploads stop, and you keep a 72-hour export window to download existing clips before they are deleted.

How does RemoCam avoid false motion alerts?

The motion detector learns the room's background and only alerts when something of real size moves a real distance, so a lamp switching on or a dog rolling over does not count. You can also paint dead zones over a TV, a window, or a ceiling fan on the live picture, set sensitivity per camera, and a cooldown keeps one burst of activity to one alert.

Does RemoCam have an app, or is it web only?

Yes. RemoCam is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and there are installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The web app works in any modern browser and installs to your home screen; on Android it is the app until the Google Play listing is live.
